At Jorum Laboratories we understand that brands come in all shapes and sizes, ARE INHERENTLY AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF development and operating at diverse levels of sophistication.

We have worked with and for both household and lesser-known names and have worked intimately with multiple pre-trading enterprises as well as artists and educational institutions in a non-commercial capacity.

Besides brands working predominantly with fine fragrance products (perfumes) we have extensive experience working with many different businesses across various application types; home fragrance (candles, room sprays, diffusers), cosmetics (fragrance for soap, hair-care, lotion and gels). Over the years we have worked with numerous players in the food and drinks industry with a particular interest in distilled alcoholic beverages.

If you are a brand, we can work with you in three distinct ways:

• You send us your brief and specifics; we liaise with you and your team throughout the creative stages and beyond. We undertake all of the formulation and manufacturing aspects of your project.

  In essence, you tell us when our ‘work here is done’.

• As most brands do not manufacture their own products, we will work with you and for you and your project as a consultant perfumer, formulating your fragrance products and overseeing all aspects of production including raw material procurement, regulation, manufacturing & finished product QC.

• If you are a brand that does possess the capabilities of manufacturing within your own facility we can still assist you. We will undertake the management of your manufacturing operation. Beyond this, we can work with your brand as an independent consultant perfumer whereby we allocate a proportion of our time to your operations, formulating new products or performing any reformulation* works of existing formulations and or the development of product portfolio extensions.

Services

Ancillary line extensions

Line extensions is one area which we really enjoy working within at Jorum Laboratories – taking an aroma and adapting to suit various applications. For example; Fine fragrance (perfume), toiletries (body care) and interior fragrance systems (candles, aroma diffusers, room sprays etc.).

Formulation and manufacturing

Jorum Laboratories can assist you in the formulation of new fine fragrance products (eau de cologne, eau de toilette, eau de parfum, extrait parfum etc.) or reformulation* of existing references. 

Home & Interior

Our work doesn’t just stop at fine fragrance applications. Jorum Laboratories can formulate aromas for use within home and interior scenting applications (candles, aroma diffusers, room sprays etc.).

Toiletries

We formulate our innovative aromas for use in body care products such as lotions, gels and creams. We will work closely with your chosen cosmetics formulation company to ensure compatibility between our fragrance formulation and the intended body care product. If you need our help finding the right cosmetics formulation company for your project, we can assist with this.

*Please note, any reformulation work will constitute a new and distinct work. Jorum Laboratories will never analyse the work of any other perfumer or Fragrance House without prior written consent from the formulation owner. Where there is no clear authorisation to analyse an existing work that is not owned by your brand, Jorum Laboratories will reformulate a new and distinct formulation. If your brand can demonstrate the ownership of an existing formulation, we will reformulate in the usual manner. As part of our core values, we will never duplicate work that is not ours nor that of the party requesting we do such – we will formulate new works.

Fragrance houses

Jorum Laboratories is an independent fragrance house. If you are a fragrance house (formulators of aroma’s for use by others) we can work alongside your in-house team of perfumers facilitating the role as independent perfumers and or consultant perfumers.

This is a great opportunity if your clients or in-house team of perfumers and formulators would benefit from having an independent, creative and impartial ‘sounding-board’. As an independent fragrance house, Jorum Laboratories subscribes to three core principles regarding the products we make; quality, innovation and originality. As an independent we can also use raw materials supplied by any supplier in unlimited quantities. We only use the industries purest and highest quality raw materials sourced from the world leading suppliers as well as direct at source in some cases.

Contract manufacaturing

If you own formula(s) and can demonstrate that you possess the ownership rights for the submitted formulations or can prove that you have agreed the rights of usage by the owner of the formulation(s) in question.

We can take a formula and manufacture aromatic concentrate and other end product on your behalf – an ideal time management tool.

Turn-key

We can bring a seed of an idea to market, taking it through all the steps in the process to get it there in a truly end-to-end manner. This allows you to focus on growing your enterprise.

You give us the necessary information and budget parameters; we deliver products in-line with your expectations.

Brand Management

We have experience in Brand Management . Our Brand Management service is especially helpful if you have a good idea and the capital to bring it to fruition but know little else about the industry and wish to add a perfume specific or lifestyle oriented brand to your portfolio of entrepreneurial interests. We have built and have helped build and grow numerous perfume brands and other businesses with a proven track record of international success.

Country of Origin compliance - Made in U.K. / Made in Scotland & beyond

We have a diverse list of sub-contractors within our network. We can direct the manufacture of our formulations in most key markets globally. This helps with both Country of Origin compliance and logistics.

Jorum Laboratories do everything here in Scotland. We are extremely passionate and protective of our heritage and craftsmanship. We import aromatic raw materials from across the globe. We have the capabilities to create fragrances from conception through to bottling right here in Edinburgh, Scotland - proudly enabling each of our clients the use of our Made in Scotland stamp of quality and craftsmanship.

However, if you require a specific Country of Origin designation beyond Made in Scotland or Made in the United Kingdom, we have dozens of sub-contractors located strategically across the globe, all are eager to take our formulations and manufacture on behalf of our clients.
